Guide rail KP 1270 is the long vertical member of the SIAL aluminium subframe. It is screwed or riveted to the bracket heads and receives the cladding, so every panel, cassette or slat finally sits on this profile rather than on the wall.

Rail pitch and bracket spacing are not chosen by eye: they come from a calculation of wind load and the self-weight of the facade. The rail works together with SIAL brackets (load-bearing and support types), intermediate-floor brackets and the fasteners listed in the project specification.
