Ventilated facade design for buildings in Georgia

An international team of facade engineers. We design rainscreen facades — from the choice of system to the structural, thermal and fire calculations and the shop drawings your installer works from — and supply the materials.

What we do

A ventilated facade is a structure, not a finish. It carries wind and seismic loads, keeps the insulation dry and has to pass the fire checks for the height of the building. We design it as a structure.

1

Concept and system selection

We compare cladding options — HPL, aluminium composite, aluminium cassettes, fibre cement, ceramic granite, terracotta, clinker — and subframe types for your building, budget and fire class, before anyone orders material.

2

Structural calculation

Brackets, profiles and anchors checked for dead load, wind pressure from the Georgian construction climatology and seismic action for the site — Tbilisi and Kutaisi are rated 8 on the MSK-64 scale.

3

Thermal and fire design

Insulation thickness that meets the U-value limit for your climate zone, thermal bridges at brackets taken into account, and a cladding and insulation set that fits the fire rules for the building class.

4

Shop drawings and cutting lists

Every panel, every bracket and every anchor on the drawing: elevations, node details, panel layouts and material schedules that an installation crew can follow without guessing.

Why a facade needs its own design in Georgia

Georgia has no separate national standard for ventilated facades. The rules that apply to one sit in several documents at once: the seismic and climatology regulations approved by Government Resolution No. 71 of 2014, the Building Safety Rules based on the International Building Code (Resolution No. 41 of 2016), the minimum energy performance requirements (Resolution No. 354 of 2021) and the construction products regulation that recognises European Technical Assessments (Resolution No. 476 of 2018). Eurocodes are considered when regulations are drafted, but they have not been made mandatory.

In practice this means the facade designer has to put these pieces together — and justify every assumption to the expert who reviews the project. That is the part of the work we are good at.

How a project runs

1. You send the drawings

Architectural elevations, floor plans and sections in PDF or DWG, the address and the cladding you have in mind. A sketch is enough to start.

2. We calculate and propose

Within a few working days you receive the recommended system, an estimate of the material quantities and the scope and price of the design.

3. Design package

Structural and thermal calculations, fire strategy, node details, panel layouts and schedules — signed off and ready for the expert review.

4. Materials and support

We supply the cladding and the subframe and stay on call during installation to answer the crew's questions on site.

Materials we design with and supply

High-pressure laminate (HPL) panels for facades and interiors, aluminium composite panels including Alucobond, painted aluminium sheet in PE, PU and PVDF finishes, painted steel coil, aluminium and steel linear panels, facade lamellas, clinker tiles and subframes for every type of cladding. The full catalogue will be published on this site; until then, send us your specification and we will quote it.

Have a project in Tbilisi, Batumi or Kutaisi?

Send the drawings — we will reply with a system proposal and a design quote.
