Fabric-effect aluminium (FIBRE)

FIBRE finishes give aluminium the tactile, woven appearance of textile or linen. Seen from a distance the surface reads as soft and slightly matt, and up close the fine thread-like structure breaks up reflections and fingerprints. It is an unusual look for metal, and it brings a quiet, premium character to facades and interiors.

Why architects use it

  • Reduces glare and visual noise compared with smooth paint
  • Hides minor surface marks and cleaning traces
  • Adds depth without a loud pattern
  • Combines the lightness and non-combustibility of aluminium with a soft look

Typical applications

The finish suits hotel and residential entrances, canopy undersides, ceilings of lobbies and galleries, and interior wall panels in showrooms, offices and restaurants. On facades it works best where the cladding is seen at close range, such as at ground level and in arcades, since fine texture is less visible from the street at height.

Colour and combination

The range centres on neutral tones such as warm greys, sand, taupe and graphite. These calm shades go well with natural stone, timber and bronze details. Used alongside smooth metallic panels, FIBRE sets up a pleasing contrast between matt and reflective surfaces.

Design advice

  • Fabric textures can be directional, so keep orientation constant across all cassettes.
  • Request a physical sample, because photographs cannot show the structure.
  • Avoid very tight bending radii on textured sheet.
  • Plan thermal movement and corrosion separation as for any aluminium cladding.

Pricing is on request. Send us your drawings and we will propose suitable cassette sizes and prepare a calculation.
